Hoar Frost

Description

I found myself fascinated by these intricate ice crystals on some leaves, during a recent trip into the Cascade Range not far from the Three Sisters. I believe it is called Hoar Frost. Nature can be so fascinating at so many levels… on so many scales. And for me, one of the things that I like most about photography is that it makes me slow down and notice the beauty.

"In the central place of every heart there is a recording chamber. So long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer and courage, so long are you young. When your heart is covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then, and then only, are you grown old. And then, indeed as the ballad says, you just fade away.” ~Douglas MacArthur
