The Bee and the Iris

Description

This photo was taken northern Okinawa, Japan MAR 28, 2012 late in the morning. The iris fields are not quite ready for the annual Iris Festival but, this little bee was doing his part in the pollination process. Before long, the fields will look like a sea of purple flowers. Pentax K5, Tripod, Cable Release and Pentax 18-250 at 180mm. f/6.2 1/500 ISO 100. Contest Category: Flowers.
