Green With Envy...Perhaps

I remember the day I took this picture of a delicate green bud, I had many thoughts one being as follows: as the sun was shining on it, urging it to explode with its petals of color I said to myself, “look how those little green arms are protecting the bud underneath from the harsh elements”, ah but maybe it wasn’t protection at all; maybe it was a last ditch effort of holding back the petals of color that were destiny to push them to the underneath and out of the spotlight. Now is this a case of “green with envy”. Perhaps!
