To Sleep Among the Daffodils

Uploaded: March 18, 2012 03:55:24

Description

----
This was shot on Wednesday at the Slate Hill Burying Ground, an historic cemetery in Yardley, Pennsylvania. The star beside one of the pictured grave stones is the emblem for "Grand Army of the Republic," indicating that the deceased had been a Union soldier in the Civil War.
---
The oldest grave in the cemetery is dated 1698.
----
The final edits on this photo were accomplished with Nik's new ($20) Snapseed for Windows. It was primarily the Snapseed Tiltshift filter that provided the drama.
---
The version previously edited in PS CS5 is shown in the discussion area.

Nice difference Michelle, love the contrast of the look of the bright yellow daffodils among the gray drab headstones. Well seen and captured! #10042687

Fabulous composition, Michelle! Wonderful juxtaposition of the cherry daffodils and old headstones and the lighting is marvelous. Your title is perfect, too! I have been hearing about Nik's Snapseed but somehow I thought it was an iPad, iPhone app and so never followed up. I am amazed at this - have always wanted a tiltshift lens. #10047107
