The Koru (Māori for "bight" or "loop") is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattoos. The circular shape of the Koru helps to convey the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil suggests a return to the point of origin. #1446874

I just love the images Mother Nature allows us to capture, especially the geometry of plants. Very nice, Dominick. #10017777

Beautifully captured Dominick. You may have noticed the silver fern features prominently as a sports logo and indeed a lot of people want to design a new national flag with the silver fern featured on it. #10017989

What a beautiful frond -- the colors are very nice and your capture of the details excellent. Interesting information from both you and Ann, too. #10018378
