Being Canadian, the Rockies are a favourite of mine anyway. This winter image continues to display the majestic qualities of this mountain range. Love it Laura. It sort of makes me yearn for home...all in good time lol. #9998612

Hi Bobby and Heather! :)))

Can you believe I shot this in SEPTEMBER!? IN THE FALL! Is that pathetic? SNOW in the FALL! This same Mtn is likely pure white right now. I shot this in the early hours of the day in a town called Canmore. One Town before the Banff National Park Gate. Dale and I were on our way to meet wonderful BPers, (Courtenay V. and Hubby Tom). Miraculously when we got to the town of Banff to pick them up we saw a bit of blue skies that just kept getting better!

We had a fantastically fun day of photo shooting and a big picnic by a lake!

That's life in the high country! Always an adventure!

Thanks for the visit and Heather you'll be home soon enough! Enjoy the tropics! :) !!!

Very cool (no pun intended) image, Laura! Looks very cold and unforgiving - not at all like the pretty picture postcards that scream "Banff"! Thank you so much for all your visits and comments. My participation (commenting anyway) has been very sporadic these last few months - we are almost finished with a very major kitchen renovation (down to the 2x4s - try 2 months with no sink!) and now am in the midst of an 8-week PS class. No time to shoot, let alone comment! #9998749

Michelle Alton February 24, 2012

I whole-heartedly agree with Lorna on this, Laura. It's a winner...no discussion needed on that count! #9999191

Oh Laura! I am so honoured that you have dedicated this incredible image to l'il ole me!!! I really do love it!!! I wish the judges could see the original image as it is larger and even more jaw-dropping when you first look at it!!! The mountains are spectacular and you captured them beautifully here! I still stand by my words ... "A shot for N. G.!!!" :) #9999531

Good Morning Rona! Wow. Home "reno's" are such a pain but so worth it in the end. Sorry to hear you have been likely washing dishes CAMPING STYLE or MOTEL STYLE! In the wrong sink!!! We are all here when you are ready and thank you for the wonderful gallery visit to my latest work! I'm honored that you made the time.

*

Michelle, THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND! WOW! :))))

*

Monnie! Really? :))) You guys have me beaming! Thank you!!!

*

Oh Twin Sister ;D You are so VERY welcome. Oh..You know what? What I failed to mention is that I didn't make this into a B&W! This is straight from the camera, too. I might have curved it a little. It was a while back now and am not sure. Anyway I like the original size best too. Agreed. And thanks so much for inspiring me to enter this one. :) Thanks for being who you are in GENERAL!

*

SSSKiki!!! :)))) Well....You might just have to show me the "ropes" with National Geo. I'm just a little tiny monkey and I don't swing very far from the BP TREE! :))) Thank you for all you said!

HAVE WONDERFUL DAYS and EVENINGS Everyone!

Emile I hope your "tour" stops in Banff. Will it?

*

Brother John then let it be so and add a beautiful lake to your vision, too. They fill the Rockies!

*

Tammy it's so wild and rugged here and gorgeous in so many areas. I expect Daniele Boone to go trekking by at any moment with snow shoes on and a raccoon in his leather sack, and yet things are very modern and clean and pretty, too. The best of both worlds!

*

Thank You Neal. :)

*

Hi Ujjwal! Long time no see! Thanks friend!

*

Sister, all of you have already made this a winner in my heart! :)

Thank you for the neato trophy, WOW!

You guys are the best! :)) All of you!

Hi Emile! Please go to my new entry called Bear Attack" and read the long note I left you there! :)))

*

Hi Mare! :))) I wish I could describe how I feel while shooting in the Rockies. They humble a person so much and touch part of our souls that appreciate God so much!

*

Hi Lyn!! :))) Nice to see you! Well, I guess at the very least I'd better re-enter this image. BP is not maybe seeing what so many of you are. It's a stunning image at full size. Thanks for your vote!

*

Hi Rey! A far cry from the beautiful tropical Philippines! But beauty none the less! :D Always a joy to see you here!

That goes for the rest of you, too!
