I had to pick up my camera and 'try' a few shots. Look'n pretty shakey :) #1445138

Beth Spencer February 23, 2012

Welcome back Carla!! I am glad you are getting better!! I like this one, the colors are great and I think you did a good job with the focus. What kind of flower is this? #9998487

Jeff E Jensen February 23, 2012

I love the rich pink colors, Carla.

It's good to have you back! #9998500

Dale Hardin February 23, 2012

It's so good to see your creations again Carla. Beautifully balanced with just a touch of crisp focus to tickle the senses. Very nice. #9998663

Sue C. Cole February 23, 2012

Yes, welcome back. Sometimes the pain is when you can't do want you love more than the pain of the injury itself. I love pink and I love the dark pink that flows into the light. Just lovely:) #9998668

Stephen Shoff February 23, 2012

Great composition with great leading lines. If this is "shakey" for you, I'm way out-classed! #9998699

Kristin Duff February 23, 2012

I love the lead in line with the focused petal pushing my eye right to the stamens. Also love the shades of pink and to echo B9th S. what type of flower is this? #9998706

Jeanine M. Bailey February 24, 2012

Loving this as it makes me anxious for spring and summer!! Miss seeing colors like this!! Just beautiful!! :) #9999257

Carla Capra Anderson February 24, 2012

Thank you all.
I've missed my hobby, which Sue has described well, and participating.
Beth and Kristin this is a pink magnolia. My parents have also called it a tulip tree.
Jeanine, when my parent's tree starts flowering I know spring is around the corner. The tree is bare of leaves and all you see are these large gorgeous flowers. #9999390

Arthur Bohlmann February 24, 2012

Welcome back my friend. I can see by this fine image that you have not lost your touch #9999407

Aimee C. Eisaman February 24, 2012

Glad to see you picking up the camera...you go girl! :~) I can't see any shakes in this one...you nailed a focus on a super narrow DOF! I love the composition on it too. I think it could use brightened up a tad though. #9999455

Anthony L. Mancuso February 24, 2012

Great to see you back Carla...love the limited DOF and leading line of the edge of the petal on this one.. #10000395

Stephen Shoff February 24, 2012

I hadn't recognized this as a tulip tree. I was down in your neck of the woods (or orchards) last weekend. I'm kicking myself now. I passed up opportunities for orchard blossoms and for these tulip trees blossoms. #10000480

Aimee C. Eisaman February 25, 2012

O this is a tulip tree??? We have them here and they don't look like this. This looks more like the magnolia trees my neighbor has. #10000843

Rita K. Connell level-classic February 25, 2012

this is beautiful, I love the tones and the placement of the bud. good to have you back #10001016

Karen Celella February 25, 2012

Lovely Carla! Welcome back! #10001026

Peter W. Marks February 25, 2012

The Liriodendron (popular name 'Tulip tree') is been hybridized (is that a word?)so they don't necessarily have the pink blossom we see in Carla's fine image. We see them in some folk's yard around here but in one of Mother Nature's strange quirks they come into bloom too early and invariably get hit by late frosts so we only get to enjoy them for a short time.
Welcome back Carla. #10001109
