Congrats on your finalist Kathy! #1438815

Thanks Agnes, it's always a thrill to make the Finals.

I volunteer to take the photos for the Salem Animal Rescue League in Salem, NH for their website. This is one of their dogs up for adoption.

Today I just got a bunch of emails from the staff and volunteers at the shelter thanking my partner and me for all the wonderful photos and how much it has improved the adoption rate at the shelter. Joan and I work as a team taking the photos once a week. Joan makes sure the animals are in the right place for the shoot and holds them in place until I am ready to shoot. It is definately a team effort, I couldn't do it without her so she deserves as much credit as I do. I think I have the easier part. #9941551

You can feel it in the air, the anticipation of waiting for the awards to arrive. The talent that is on display for all to see and share is amazing. Congratulations to all the January, 2012 winners. Merna #9953829

Merna you are so right. I love your website, your work is wonderful. You are lucky you have made it beyond the finals. I'm still trying hard to make that next big step. It's always exciting when you get the word that you've made it.

I love your shot of Faithful Friends and the wonderful story about it.

Hi Kathy: Your day will come, and I love your animal images. I made copies of this photograph and took them to the shelters as a gift. I am a faithful Animal Planet program viewer and do my share of crying and vow to try harder in making the lives of these precious animals better.
Back to the award subject, I joined BP in 2003 and received my first gold just two years ago. You can image how excited I was and it renewed my ambition to do better. I am a 73 year old granny and I feel so honored to be included with so many people who see so much beauty to photograph and save the pictures for many to see for years to come. Take care and keep shooting that camera.
My best to you, Merna #9954691

Hi Merna: I was thrilled to think you liked it well enough to give it as a gift to the shelter. I can't give the shelters enough credit for all they do for these wonderful animals.

Glad to see you are in my league, I am 79. Even at our age there are so many opportunities to work our photo magic. It is a hobby that never runs out of subjects to shoot. Always interesting and never boring. We're always ready to shoot that unusual shot as well as capturing the every day subjects that most people tend to overlook until we bring it to their attention. #9955249

Hi Kathy: I hope that I did not give you the idea that I made copies of your photo away, I was referring to my little guys in the wagon. So nice to meet you and knowing that we found a hobby that also brings us together as new friends, this is nice to know. I hope to see a lot of you from now on. Merna #9955393

Your photo of the dogs in the wagon is priceless. They look so sweet.

Keep those great photos coming. #9955635
