Description: On layer 1 I de-saturated the entire image, decreased the brightness slightly on a second layer, and then adjusted the levels on a third layer. On a fourth layer (and layer mask) I selected the area beyond the foreground, underexposed it using levels, and then painted it into the rest of the image.
