Technique 5 - Lighting: Dawn Fog

Uploaded: November 22, 2011

Description

Description: “Misty Milton Morning”
I awoke to this scene while camping. Obviously, the mist makes this capture. Used sunlight WB (thanks to a recent article in BP which decried AUTO and then fix it in RAW); the color on my camera monitor matched mist reality. Purposely used a shallow DOF to soften the background, trying to compliment its mistiness.

Body – Nikon D90; Lens – 35mm; EFL – 35mm; handheld; speed - 1/80 sec; aperture - f/4.5; ISO - 450; manual mode; matrix meter; WB – sunlight; lighting – outdoors ambient; RAW.

OK – so, I’m retired now. Adventure awaits! We just purchased a hoopty doopty tent camper and took it to the Milton, WV KOA just a few miles from our house for a much needed dress rehearsal. This is the scene poking my head out the door just after dawn. It stormed violently in night but nary a drop inside!
