Description

Taken at Zoo Atlanta. This female Sumatran tiger had two cubs on July 5th, 2011, a boy and a girl. The mother and her cubs are kept in a large enclosure where the mother is teaching her young to hunt and kill. As part of the Tiger Special Species Survival Plan, the Zoo does not domesticate them and they are still completely wild. The handlers never go into the enclosure as it would mean their certain death. Even the now four month old babies are dangerous at this time.
