This most co-operative little bird in a great big world is a fine specimen of Phalacrocorax melanoleucos (Little Pied Cormorant), a very common and widespread Aussie native.

The Making of 'Stormbird':The ninth in a series of nineteen waterscape photographs chosen by the developers of Coast Apartments in my home town of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The large black and white prints grace the walls of the foyers, gymnasium and lift on permanent display in the luxury complex.
The shot was made at the south end of Shelley Beach in Port Macquarie, Mid-north Coast, NSW, Australia on a wild and woolly day.
Enjoy!
The series gives the viewer a journey from the Hastings River, that runs through the town and down the coast to The Gap at Diamond Head Beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park #1420259

How'd you get him to pose like that?! Gorgeous, as usual! #9787717Dennis Gay November 07, 2011
How *Wendy*?All my subjects are trined. LOL
Seriously all Cormorants and Darters pose like this so they can dry out. This poot li'l bloke was going to be hanging out to dry like that for quite a while as most of the afternoon was just a miserable drizzle.
Thanks heaps for your "Gorgeous" wrap.
