Beautiful contrast between foreground, mountains and sky, Phyllis! I am confused, though; to my recollection, the Alabama hills are no where near the Sierra Mountains...are they???? #1419620

Hi Ann! Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments. This is the south end of the Sierra where Mt Whitney is located and you go through the Alabama Hills to get there. I am so fascinated by the Hills. #9775866

The Alabama Hills are a big surprise the first time you see them as they are different than you would expect. To imagine 400 Westerns being shot there is very interesting. #9777012

It looks like there is a bucket pouring clouds on the mountains. Terrific, Phyllis. #9778860

The cloud arch interestingly brings the viewers eye to the far mountains.

Great POV Phyllis and excellent depth of field. #9909161

Thank you Irene. If I had used a little wider angle. Mt Whitney would have been in the picture. The foreground is the Alabama Hills. #9918387
