Mountain Sheep

Uploaded: October 29, 2011

Description

Grand Canyon 2008 I was photographing a Tree on the south rim standing on top of a little rock in the trail. My husband was on a bench nearby taking a nap. I hear this voice quietly saying Patricia "turn around, turn around" I turned around, looked down and there at my backside was this Sheep looking at me! The she moved on up the trail....of course with me behind her now to try to capture her portrait before hopping the rim. This was the last shot.

Hi Millieanne...Thanks for viewing and commenting...I know critters are literally Hit & Miss...I always consider myself very very fortunate indeed to see them when I do....I live in Arizona so not too far from the Canyon...about a four hour drive....I try to get up there at least once a year...Have a great day! =^..^= #9770614

Great timing and capture. Love the beautiful blue sky. The one time I visited the Grand Canyon, they were doing controlled burns so we really didn't get to see the landscape. #9771152

Thank you Kathy, Tammy & Neal for your kind words....

Kathy...unfortunately there are burns, sometimes controlled, sometimes not...it just depends on the time of day you're there....sometimes that can add a bit of color to sunrise & sunset...but sometimes is the operative word (LOL)

Tammy....hiker that you are...please go...there are so many wonderful hikes...Grandview is hard, but so beautiful. Hermit Trail is great. And of course Bright Angel and South Kaibab...with your luck you will run into all kinds of critters along the way..you seem to attrack the four leggeds!!!!

Neal...just a big thank you....as always...much appreciated!

Cheers to all and have a wonderful day! =^..^= #9771947

Fabulous capture Patricia and wonderfully composed considering the difficulty of chasing uncooperative wildlife and trying to get a decent photo. Terrific color and detail in this wonderful image! #9774477
