A close-up of one of "The Three Belles" of Australia’s Strange Fruit in performance last month. This Melbourne-based performing arts company produces and performs a remarkable style of work that fuses theatre, dance and circus, using a unique elevated medium. Perched atop 16 foot high flexible poles, the performers bend and sway in the air. They are internationally acclaimed and have performed in over 50 countries.
