MOON, EARTH AND SEA

Uploaded: August 19, 2011

Description

Monterosso al Mare is one of the five towns - Cinque Terre - in Italy. It took me 9 hours from my home to arrive at our hotel. The rock with the waves and part of the moon was one of the first sights I saw. I wanted to capture some of the fishing boats and the moon on the water. The rock was lit by some of the boardwalk lamp posts.

You're making me jealous Mayra. Have always wanted to go to Italy. Not sure if it was for the scenery or the food though. :o) What settings did you use for this delightful photo? #1402236

Hi Dale,

The scenery and the food are both good.
For the settings, I used my 24-105 mm EF ISO 100 at 30' at f/9.0. #9618187

A dramatic photo Mayra.

Someday I want to drive to water so I can take pictures like this. #9618624

Thank you all for your kind words. The drive, well, I should not have driven. I thought that taking the back roads would be picturesque and we could stop in the little towns...Instead, it was a trip that only Indiana Jones would take. You would probably have enjoyed taking pictures of us screaming up while we drove up and down the very narrow mountain roads. Next time I take the train. #9619364

Awesome photo. I don't care how you got there this is magnificent. If Indiana Jones came along I wouldn't mind. #9658438

This is inspirational. Like Irene, I'd like to drive to the coast and try for this. I like how the bright moon turned out. I like the slowed down wave motion of the water. I like the size 30 sec made the stars. A late congratulations. #9959065
