Gina - Thanks! This was somewhat of a lucky shot! The wind was picking up and the mosquitoes were driving me crazy but I managed to get one shot and it happened to be in focus.:-)

Fantastic detail, Mike..Love it! #9612937Robert Jensen August 19, 2011
Beautiful shot - wonderful macro. Since assassin flies are active during the day, I would also love to see this one with an OOF foliage background. #9614731Michael Umbreit August 23, 2011
Thanks! I hope to run into a cooperative subject someday that perches where there is a nice background nearby. The ones I have been shooting are always on or near the tips of long grasses and reeds where no real background will show up with my flash and small aperture. I don't attempt to move or capture them so I guess I just need to get more creative. :-) Mike #9623821Donna La Mattino Pagakis September 04, 2011
