Hummingbird Clearwing Moth

Uploaded: August 03, 2011

Is it a bird or a plane or what is it? This is the first summer that I seen these flying moths in my garden. They sip like a hummingbird and dart around like a hummingbird. Quite an interesting sight.

Oddly enough they are called Hummingbird Moths (though they have another name). It looks like you have Monarda in your garden, and I have seen these by the hundreds in the Wildflower Meadow. You've done a great job capturing this beauty. #1398235
