Rockin' Rod

Uploaded: July 11, 2011

Description

In the hot rod world this is the famous "RODriguez" built in the Paradise Road shop in Nagoya, Japan, by Junichi Shimodaira. The body is a 1930 Ford Model A, blending hot rod, custom, and lowrider styling in an original way. It has a 303 Rocket V-8 engine and Hydra-matic transmission from a 1949 Oldsmobile. As of this current date, the vehicle has received 115 awards!

I shot this in front of graffiti art in the Los Angeles Art's District. While I much prefer photographing hot rods/classic cars on an overcast day, we were glad the sun was out. The early morning light best shows off this vehicle's metallic, "Tequila Gold" paint.
