Bad angles, behind dirty and scratched glass, bad light, and a host of other problems. So the fact that you got so many good ones, is an accomplishment.

The San Diego Zoo is AMAZING... I mean, ALL the ANIMALS are very well taken care of.. their homes are AMAZING!!!!
I couldn't believe this bear was behind glass-
I just wished I lived near there- so I could visit EVERYDAY!
I really loved the fact that the zoo keepers were there - available to talk to us about EVERYTHING-
I love that they give their animals 'enrichment toys' to play in...and they give these polar bears "TONS OF SNOW" - they get free snow shippings... neat eh?

member since: 10/9/2004 Ah, so that's where these were taken, San Diego Zoo, isn't it a wonderful clean place! Tony & I had a wonderful time looking around there. When I visited our Australia Zoo, owned by the late Steve Irwin & his family it was just the same, so very clean & the animals well looked after. I havae enjoyed these pictures very much, good work=^..^=

Thank u again for all your great comments.. I appreciate you!
I went on a back stage tour with 4 otheres- went around on a 'golf cart-type thingy' for the first two and a half hrs (my fam and sister in law walked 90 % of the zoo) I would of DIED...
I took the skyfari (air tram- like a ski lift) up the hill, then walked down... apparently there were free express buses there as well, but we did not use them.. I loved this zoo also because the animals were really so close by each other, and there homes were HUGE... they even had their 'animal ambassadors' living in the same quarters... a cheetah and golden retriever... they grew up together. Most of the San Diego Zoos animals are either rescued or born there...
What a wonderful place to LEARN! Each zookeeper was AMAZING... I love the fact that they have a great probram there where they breed almost exhinct animals and try to get them back in the wild. The panda bears were something to see too- on loan from China. We went in a litter closer to see the Panda's while on the tour- so my shots are of-course from the general public's view- different... I will post some of the panda interacting with the zoo keeper/ she is playing a game with one-and then feeding him. THey are not the best views, but still something to watch.

Should be "others", "program", and "little."

Oh, wanted to also tell you, on tour our guide explained to us there was 7,000 different plants at the zoo, and only 4,000 animals... it was so so beautiful to walk around there!

It took me 15 years to get my husband to toss the little yellow wading pool we'd used for the first grandson (now 27 years old) and all of the dogs for summer cooling. So where does it show up next? With a POLAR BEAR! Too funny.

Great capture. #9509307
