Big White Goose

Uploaded: May 28, 2011

Description

This big Goose looked so beautiful swimming in the water. Taken at Seminole City Park in Seminole, FL. I won't be out shooting pictures for a while. I had foot surgery yesterday. I can't walk on it for six weeks. I have plenty of pictures in my files to pick from.

Sorry to hear about your foot surgery, I hope the healing process goes well. I liked this picture but didn't ever recall seeing this particular type of goose before so I tried to look it up in my bird books, no luck. A Google search turns up that it is a White China Goose which begs the question "shouldn't he be in a restaurant somewhere?" Anyway from what I read they can make pretty good watch dogs as they are the most talkative of the geese and can sometimes take to disliking people. The can also lay up to 100 eggs per year. Nice capture of what is a new species for me. #9433376
