Leap ! ¡V Extra Click

While at my granddaughter¡¦s dance recital, I snapped over a hundred frames, practicing fast action / weird lighting situations. Most of these are ¡§recycle bin specials¡¨, but a handful worked well. This is one of them.
Shooting from about 70¡¦ away, I cropped this image extensively. For composition¡¦s sake, tried for Rule of Thirds, primary focal areas being her face and right leg.
Through trial and error that evening, I found a good settings combo: RAW; 1/500 sec; f/3.2; Auto ISO ¡V maxxed @ 3200.
In Lightroom and Elements, I adjusted tint to get good flesh tones, and a little noise reduction.
My D90 and 50mm f/1.4 handled this situation well, but I would¡¦ve gotten better results with the D700. Didn¡¦t feel like lugging around the heavier equipment all evening, but I regret that now.

Exif: F Number: 3.2, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/500 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 3200, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 50.00 mm, Model: NIKON D90
