Wow! What a clear example of the power of moving in close. By getting eye-to-eye and filling the frame with fur, you've given the eyes command of the image. Because for survival we're hard-wired to see eyes first to determine friend or foe, eyes are the subject in portraits of people and animals—you've nailed them here with your sharp focus and enlivening catchlights. My eyes wants to linger, taking in all the details of this pretty face, which is exactly what makes a good picture. Wonderful.

The balance of the eyes to the edges, chin to the bottom edge, and white fur to orange on the right side is pleasing. Each is slightly different for interest and none are too close to the edge to become distracting. Good job.

See that dark line of fur on the lower left edge, though? Because our eyes go to contrast, it pulls us over to the edge distracting us from the image. Take that little bit away by nudging your camera that much to the right and you'll have an even stronger portrait. #9431924
