THE MAKING OF 'IronDad':

My best Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club mate Peter and I finally got a table on this very exciting and busy day and while Pete headed off to the barrier to gat some panning action shots I stayed at the table and picked off a few candids from among the crowd.

I was most fortunate that there was a break in the constantly moving crowd just long enough for me to make a few shots of this cute little scene.

The conditions were so changeable that I set my ISO higher than usual to cope with the erratic drop in light that happened due to a lot of cloud cover and regulated the shutter speed to cope with those times when the light increased. This meant I only had to make one quick adjustment each time the light fluctuated.

Enjoy!

You had a way more relaxed time of it than did our fellow BP member, Brett Dolsen. He was on assignment shooting this event and had been "indentured" to shoot at least 5000 frames. The company provided memory cards and he had to fill' em and give them back filled. H e didn't get to keep a single shot!

I think perhaps he would have enjoyed changing places with you!

This is a wonderful capture, from your usual seat, Dennis. #9385039

Ciao *DOUGLAS* & *MICHELLE*!@!

So good to see you at my table at the Crèma watching the people watching the Ironman event.
Umpteen thanks to you both for the encouragement of your great feedback on this paternal candid.

Michelle: I considered joining that team of photographers but I was not in very good health leading up to the event so I backed out. That's why I stayed at my table at the Crèma.
When I made this shot I feel I justified that decision. Maybe next year.....
