Had a wonderful time with Ellen, Leslie, and Kathy shooting and talking photography in Holland, MI!
The Holland Harbor Lighthouse has a stormy history, beginning in 1847 with the arrival of the first Dutch settlers who attempted to establish a harbor. Monies finally came from the Federal Govt.in 1872 and the first lighthouse was erected. Once a steel tower & fog building in pale yellow; in 1936 the light and horn were electrified.

One special thing to add to the Big Red photographic experiences - each change in the light changes the hues of the red walls of the LH. It's especially fascinating morning and evening - during different seasons.

Wonderful shot, Rona. I'll ditto all the comments about this fun trip! #9385602
