Truly an outstanding capture of this Sandhill Crane, Michael! Wonderful detail and clarity! I shot a lot of them during their fall migration here in Indiana this year, but could not get nearly this close - and I used the same lens but with a 2X TC! Congrats on an outstanding Finalist! #9416049

Thank you Carla and Tony most appreciated.

Thanks Merna always fun to see your congratulations.

Thanks Aimee. I may put this one into Nat Geo this month and save the Merkat for next. Thank you for the encouragement and congratulations.

Thank your Rona. Very kind words. I got a bit lucky with the Sandhill. They are very rare in the Reno area so seeing him to get a photo was great. He also let me get very close for this type of bird without flying off. We have a Blue Heron that is a frequent visitor to the same are I shot this and I have not been able to get nearly as close to him despite trying often over several years. #9418012
