Moon over Florida

Uploaded: March 21, 2011

Description

Moon outside the condo where I live. I added the Ibis from a picture I had taken at Seminole park. The full moon was a super "perigee moon". The biggest in almost 20 years. This celestial event is far rarer than the famed blue moon, which happens once about every two-and-a-half years.
"The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993," You'll have to wait until 2029 to see it again.

Awesome capture, Kay!
I heard about the large moon over Florida. My son and his family are staying at our home in the Keys and he said there were probably 50 cars on our street to see this beautiful moon. #1362843

I'm glad you caught the moon on this special occation, Kay. We had total overcast that night.
I think those birds are flying a bit too high for their own good, though, don't they? HAHA!
Very well done!! #9327686
