I had some of those for Mother's Day - good looking photo - bright, sharp and
well composed. #95880

Thanks! The back side of this one is a day away from ripeness. Several others are beginning to turn. Soon it will be more berries than I can handle. I have the dryer ready to go and intend to slice and preserve as many as possible, if the cat can keep the rabbits away from the patch. #95913

Here's one for the books! This frame has made the finals in two online photo contests in the last week and I can't find the original TIFF file! As a result, I'm not even sure of the exposure information. I'm looking for it though! Maybe it will turn up somewhere on the hard drive! #113987

Thanks Leanne and Murry. You both remembered this one from the middle of last month when the patch began to ripen. Since then, I have bagged and frozen about 10 pounds of Fragaria June bearing strawberries! They are still going strong, but the size of the fruit is about half as big as it was when the first wave came in. I have my fingers crossed that this might have a snowballs chance to break the macro jinx! #114098

A beautiful strawberry and a beautiful job on the macro, Lem! Way to go ... and good luck! #114773

Hi,
I took almost the same photo in my garden. You exposer is better then mine. Mine is alittle to sunny. I grow Strawberry in my home garden. Is that one home grown? #116437

Thank you Elizabeth and Gary. This is a raised bed patch of June bearing "Fragaria" strawberries, Dawn. It started a few years ago with 6 plants and has spread throughout the entire bed, whick measures about 10' X 25'. I take plants out each fall and distribute them to friends for their gardens. The plants grow like crazy! And the fruit is excellent. So good in fact, that every insect, bird and rabbit for miles will eat them if they are left on the plant onced ripened. My cat Buddy is supposed to protect the garden, but he has gotten lazy and just watches the birds fly in and out. He does discourage the rabbits, however! #116527
