THE MAKING OF 'Elegance':

Another Wednesday morning and another get together with my Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club friends when we slurp good coffee, maybe eat some nice cake, solve all the world's problems and occasionally talk about photography.
There are times when I 'make' a candid shot just by being observant and being able to predict or just to hope for a special moment. Then there are times such as this when it all just happens - serendipity. This subject was sitting in glorious light but had been turned slightly away from me since she sat down. Suddenly she turned, looked up and held the pose. My camera is always at the ready so all I had to do was lift it to my eye, lock on the focus and shoot.

Beautiful profile of this elegant woman you captured at just the right moment, Dennis. Love the light and your use of b&w. I can almost feel the sun warming her face! #9279703

Hi Dennis....Really nice profile shot of the pretty lady!! Only thing that bugs me is the big black area in front of her face. Maybe the image would be better if the background was all black??? #9280456

Hola *TAMMY* & *LONNIE*!!

A big Aussie WELCOME to you both to the Crèma Espresso Bar.
Muchos gracias for your insightful, thoughtful and encouraging feedback for this candid caper.

Lonnie: I have pondered over that background shape, (a woman customer), and left it there thinking it would add a sense of environment to the image. However the way you have discribed it is quite right. I will fix up the original and make another print for my camera club competition. Thanks mate!
