~Male Hooded Merganser~Caldwell Zoo, Tyler, TX

He looks as tho he stepped out of the pages of a duck's equivalent to "Gentlemen's Quarterly" - flaunting his white fan-shaped black bordered crest, his chestnut dappled flanks and white breast coat with pronounced black stripes, stopping only for a moment of preening and primping, he saunters down the runway log....Yep, he's a looker...and I think he knows it. :) B/G compliments of the beautiful golden autumn decked-out trees surrounding the pond.
