Description

1)Carefully selected horse with pen tool. 2) Inversed selection and applied a motion blur to the background. 3) Decided to try to make it appear that I was panning with his head.Changed the selection back to the horse. Then applied a milder motion blur to his body with a gradient. Did this three times in three separate layers, with different gradient angles. 4) Didn't like that the background motion blur had left "ghost images" both in front of his line of motion and behind, where I wanted it. So, flattened the layers, turned the selection of the horse back on and changed to inverse, to prevent inadvertently affecting horse. Then used the smudge tool to remove the "ghosting" in front of him and only leave it behind him. 6)Lastly, used the smudge tool set small and soft to even out the hard edges in his mane from imperfect selection.
