A Harsh Environment

Description

I took this photo to capture the rugged beauty and harsh environment of Cape Blanco with its quaint lighthouse (Southern Oregon Coast). The cape is often battered with 100+MPH winds, huge powerful waves, and heavy rains. It is also a geologically unstable place with several fault lines and heavy erosion on the steep slopes and cliffs. At the same time the cape offers spectacular and expansive views of the Pacific and its towering sea stacks, as well as of its driftwood and boulder strewn beaches to the north and south.

Exif: F Number: 7.1, ExposureTime: 100/20000 seconds, ISO: 200, FocalLength: 105.00 mm, Model: NIKON D700
