This little plant has self-seeded in one of my pots & has had 2 beautiful flowers. Lens aperture f/5.6, shutter speed 1/500sec, focal length 200mm, ISO 1600.

Thanks for the compliments on this one. On the last page of my gallery, there's another shot of the flowers & you can see the leaves, they fold in halves. Each year after it flowers it has large seed pods like a Broad Bean. It's a Bauhinia tree. #9013284

Hey, Chris - we have a large Bauhinia tree in our front yard, and it has exactly the same-coloured flowers on it as this one of yours!! They're REALLY stunning when the tree is covered!! :o)

If you decide to plant it out though just make sure that it's not *too* close to the house, as the trees can grow to around 7m (or over 22')...but then you probably already know that - lol!! ;o)
