I'm a survivor

Uploaded: October 14, 2010

Description

Meet Buckley. This is his stamp, showing his cruel brain-dead x-owner that he is a survivor. When found Buckley had had his ears & tail hacked off. He now has a loving home where he is well treated. Makes you wonder about some people, eh!!! Lens aperture f/7.1, shutter speed 1/200sec, focal length 40mm, ISO 1600.

I'm so happy for this precious dog! Yeah, I wonder about people who are cruel to children, old folks & animals!

Great closeup! #1317674

Isn't it wonderful that they issued a stamp of Buckley! I would like to meet the person who did that, but I don't think I would stop at just his ears! #8970267

Adorable photo of Buckley and he is a survivor for sure. What a sad, unbelievable story of what he has endured. Their day will come and so happy for Buckley to have a safe and loving forever home now!! #8970359

How could anyone do this! Poor little guy! He has such a sweet face and you can see he has lots of love in those eyes! I am so happy he has a new loving home. Nice close-up Chris but also sad! #8971631

Isn't it amazing how animals that have been so badly treated can still be so loving. All they want is to be loved and I am so pleased he found it. I hope his pig of an owner went to jail for what he did. How wonderful that Buckley features on a stamp. Such a delightful champion for the cause. #8973939

OMG that hurts to see and hear. And I'm so happy to hear that he has a good home now. There should be severe penalties for hurting children and animal.
What a beautiful puppy! And what a survivor he is.
Thanks for sharing this, Chris. #8974820

Awww, Chris - Buckley is totally adorable...and exudes love!! I can not fathom how anyone could be SO cruel to such a defenceless and gorgeous little doggie... It's GREAT to hear though that he is now enjoying his new home and the love of caring owners!! I'm sure that he'll bring them MUCH joy over the years!! As Ann C said above, "How wonderful that Buckley features on a stamp. Such a delightful champion for the cause." :o) #8980537

What beautiful eyes this dog has, and I am sure his heart is the same. Luckily for the abuser he did not run into me, or I would be in jail. Fate will come around. Cool pic too :) #8988115

Thank you all for your lovely comments. It's just to much to try & work out why people are so cruel & why there isn't stronger penalties for it. At least this case had a happy ending. #8993573

Chris, I had the strongest urge just now to come visit you and your gallery, and was led right to this image.

I am appalled reading what happened to this poor little puppy and it's just a miracle he is still alive. God Bless His New Owners and God Bless Buckley.

Not many things make me truly angry. Stories like this surely do.

This is a fantastic Macro with a Message and I hope it goes PURE GOLD.

Thank You So Much For Sharing It!

Thanks for taking the time to look & comment. I know exactly what you mean, I get so cranky when I hear about these rotten cruel acts also. He's smiling & barking now in happiness. #8993773

Wonderful capture of his stamp. #8993803

Sorry I mislead you, he has a new owner but it isn't me. I would have taken him though. I'm pleased to show him to you. Thanks for your interest. #8993818

I would have taken him too, poor little guy
I am so glad he has a new home that can love him
Beautiful capture!!!

Spanky has a new buddy, a friend just got a puppy from the HS, 4 months old, a little bigger than spanky right now and brought her over, they had so much fun running around and playing...was cute to watch them. #8999873

You know what they say, ... What goes around, comes around! Such a sad story! Glad it has a happy ending though! Buckley looks so lovable and deserves to have a good home! Happy to see they've honoured him by placing him on a postage stamp! You captured and presented it beautifully, Chris! :) #9005669

Hi Chris, isn't it so so wonderful that Australia post is promoting adoption!!!

Buckley had his ears and tail cut off with scissors when he was 8 weeks of age In July. From what I read he is very fearful of people because of it. Now what sort of psychopath would do this? Makes my blood boil too, I don't know what I would do if I saw it happening, go off my brain most likely. I suppose I could put in a plea of temporary insanity>

His story is HERE.

Oh my goodness this brings tears to my eyes Chris .. such a beautiful dog to have gone through such torture ... so glad he has a loving home now but no creature should have to be subjected to such cruelty! #9007009

What a sweet little pup... So glad he was saved.

To my mind, the regular (and endorsed by the AKC and others) docking of tails and cropping of ears is a cruel practice. Thank goodness for countries that have outlawed these "traditions." I wish the US would do the same. #9368074

Well presented Chris. Anyone that could do something like that to a pet, has some sort of mental issues and needs to be held responsible for their actions. Glad to see Buckley survived and is in a loving home #10070016

Chris Ebben April 01, 2012

Thank-you both for your comments. The thing is we don't have severe enough penalties here for the morons who do these awful things. #10070736
