Terrific capture of the F-111 doing the "Zippo" Chris! With the Fuel Dump valve located between the engines it really allows the pilot to light the fuel on fire by going into afterburner! Always fun at an Air Show! Jeff #8959287

Thanks a lot for all the great comments. It was one of the best events we have been to, we just stood & watched the whole show, missed out on lunch, didn't want to miss anything. It was a very overcast day, thus the grey sky, still we had fun. #8959299

My Chris this is quite a fire trail. Excellent composition and timing to get this shot. Hey your skills did not hurt a bit either. Thanks for the mention. I am out in the rough canyons of the Pecos, Rio Grande and Devils River with a Rock art group. Of course I am taking the photographs. Thanks again Chris. #8961195

Thank you all for your comments on this one. I had such a good time photographing the show. Never been to an Airshow before. As a kid Dad use to take us to Kingsford Smith (Sydney) Airport to watch the planes land & take off, that was a real event!!! It was in the days when you walked across the tarmac to get into the planes..... #8963267

Those airshow pilots really know how to rev a crowd up, don't they?
Wonderful timing and capture, Chris! It may have been your first time "under the birds", but something tells me it definitely won't be your last! #8963306

Hot capture Chris - talk about being in the right spot at the right time, I sometimes think these planes can be frightening as well as spectacular - did you take ear plugs ? #8966847

What an outstanding capture here, Chris!! Phil would've loved to have been able to attend the airshow...and I'm sure that I would've enjoyed all the photo op's, too!! Hopefully we'll get there next time one is on!! ;o/ #8979465
