Description

The limestone soil of the Niagara escarpment has meant that vineyards prosper. The escarpment's most famous feature is Niagara Falls, and next is the waters at Tobermory, which are crystal clear from the limestone, so are a world-class diving site.

This view would have been peach and tender fruit orchards in the past, but grape growing and wine making has taken over, and Niagara is now well-known as a wine region.
