Good morning Tiia, Dick, Michelle, Jeff, Monnie, and Mumj!I am so pleased that you like it! Yippeee!!
It was out of the NORM for me. Glad I took the chance.
Mumj, they didn't waste one little tiny speck of the Buffalo's. Thay used each part for things. Tools and TeePee's and clothing. Amazing respect. The animals that died didn't die in vain.
Thank you all for your wonderful support!

Wow! WTG Laura! This is really stunning! #8850704Ellen Hodges August 20, 2010
Wonderful bg with these awesome buffalo. What a story, too. Smart on the Indians' part. It was probably a whole lot easier and they needed enough food for the tribe for the whole winter. #8850714Nancy (Peaches) Harker August 20, 2010
Enjoyed description, amazing how people used to live back in the day huh?Patti Coblentz August 20, 2010
Great image and I have loved your walk through the process of this! #8851956Laura E. Swan August 20, 2010
Hi Ron! DON'T TRASH YOUR BUFFALO!!! NO! We want to see them! :))) I didn't like the BG on mine so did a selective lasso on it and used my Fractalius filter in several different ways to see what might look good. I liked how this one beamed out. Like energy and force. :)*
Thanks also to Julianne, Ellen, Peaches, and Patti! I really like to share with you guys. I am glad you enjoyed it.

I never cease to be amazed at the way indigenous peoples survive in the harsh living conditions they find themselves in, Laura!Laura E. Swan August 21, 2010
Hey Mr. Tree! I love the history to images, too. That's why I try and give some if there is any! :D!*
Hi Paddy! Well....they WERE the real deal at one time! HA! Does this count? I like the one with his tongue hanging out. He had been running HARD!
We got to see a movie about how they ran them to their demise. They gently herded them in to a narrow pathway using branches of trees that they lined up like edges of a street kind of. THEN in the last few hundred feet, a couple of the younger men dressed themselves in wolves hide and spooked them into a stampede. RIGHT before the cliff the (pretend) wolf or wolves darted to the side of the tree branches and let the buffalo run over the cliff to their death. Up to 5,000 of them. Amazing really!

Gosh Tammy. I'd have LOVED to put a blue sky in the back but I don't think I have this in my PSE7 program. I bet it's a plug in!? I put an orange BG in and it looked funky. ;)

Thanks Steve! Happy you like it!

John, me too! Wonderful how they lived and survived. I respect them so much for not killing animals for their Hyde alone and leaving the rest to rot. :( ! That happened A LOT but not with the Natives. They have too much respect for Mother Earth and The Creator!
I enjoyed your comments so much you guys! Thank you so much!

Interesting job with this image, Laura. I can verify that the place does indeed exist. From the buffalo's point of view, I think jump is the wrong word. :)Brett Dolsen August 24, 2010

WOW Laura, nice DDR work on this one.Graham Robards August 28, 2010
I wonder why Steve said "jump' is the wrong word" little sister?Maybe the animals mass panicked like our Kangaroos out here thus the Buffalos would be oblivious to going over the cliff. So I guess he is right, they didn't jump.

Looks more like "Buffalo DUMPED!" to me, Pom! I had no clue you were posting while camping, so I clearly have some catching up to do!Laura E. Swan August 30, 2010
Hi Folks. Yes. DUPED and herded over the cliff is correct. But this was a little different that the Culling of the Kangaroo. The Native Indians did this for food and tools and survival. They wasted nothing and were thankful for the provision. It is still horrible to think of.Hi Mare! :) Nope. This one was from the camping trip B4 last. I posted it when I got home. Was home a week then left for another week. Hehe! Semi retired and live WAY too close to the ROCKIES and other neat stuff!!!
Really enjoyed all of your comments folks! Thanks so very much!
