Pfalzgrafenstein and Gutenfels Castles
Uploaded: August 18, 2010
In Bravaria along the Rhine the Gutenfels Castle on the top was built in 1200 to collect tolls for King Ludwig. Although besieged many time it was never taken and thus the name which means "Good Rock". To help in toll collection a second Castle Pflazgrafnstein was built resembling a massive stone ship ploughing through the rapid waters of the Rhine. It was never taken as well. Braviarian vineyards and Kaub complement the composition. It was a gray rainy day for the sky.
