Touchdown!

Uploaded: August 14, 2010

Description

Year-round resident female Pileated Woodpecker showing her 'touchdown' skills. Photo captured on August 9th, 2010 from my location at my computer on our acreage in South West British Columbia, Canada. Years ago I had an outside glass-paned door installed right next to my computer desk so I may watch wildlife and readily tend to the many bird feeder stations located on this side of the home. Ms. Pileated (she has not chosen her lifetime mate as yet) is four feet outside from the door and I am sitting in my chair four feet inside from the door.
