Thank you Laura! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I enjoyed a stroll through your gallery. I especially enjoyed all of your fantastic detail shots, though I think "Out On A Limb" is one of my favorites. #8813113Anthony L. Mancuso August 08, 2010
Awesome shot Jeff! I love the rich colors and I'm always a big fan of turbulent looking skies like this one... #8813736Jeff E Jensen August 08, 2010
Thanks Tony! You should see this in print, it looks even better :o) #8813924Susan M. Reynolds August 09, 2010
Now this is a stunning shot! It is amazing in it's clarity, color etc. etc...Kathleen Nealon August 09, 2010
Jeff, This is a very well balanced image. I particularly like the balance of the light window against the darker portion of the sky and the darker window against the lighter area of the sky. The saturation of the car and sky are very complimentary. Your POV gives the car its dominance in the image.I agree with Susan on the background elements and perhaps I would tone down the saturation of the grass as well. For me, the story is the car and the sky. #8815418

Jeff, you know how I love good car images and this is a beaut. You were very fortunate to have the overcast sky as it eliminates lot of the glare and reflection that so many auto images have. The balance of light is very flattering and the suggestions given worth doing. Kathe is quite correct in toning down the grass a bit. And if you clone out the background areas look at that space where the cars left fender meets the body. The small part of the mountain visible there draws the eye.
Cloning it out might create a bit of imbalance in the shot though, so you might consider enlarging the area so that it extends just a bit above the fender. Try both and see what you think. #8815826

Wow Jeff, this is a stunning image. I'll bet it looks Awsome printed. I think you've gotten some great suggestions to try. But I think those would be minor tweaks. :) #8816356Jeff E Jensen August 09, 2010
Thanks all! I agree with the suggestions on the background elements as well as toning down the grass just a bit. I am traveling this week, so I won't get to it till the weekend, but will definitely be spending some time on this one.I was disappointed when I found that I got to this car show as it was wrapping up. Turned out okay though as I was able to get some decent shots of the las couple of cars without a lot of other cars/people in the image.
Here's another shot of this really cool Ford. #8816531

This is a great shot Jeff! I love that you can actually read "Ford" on the front bumper. The chrome against that blue is just a show-stopper! The sky really accentuates the beauty of this car. I bet it does look pretty awesome printed out! #8816605Michael Kelly August 09, 2010
Beautiful color and great detail Jeff. No changes needed on this one. #8817004Carla Capra Anderson August 10, 2010
G'morning, Jeff. The tone of the grass doesn't bother me. I feel it frames and brights up the image. However, I do agree that the eye pollution is distracting. You've already rec'd some great suggestions for fixes.
What a great image and photo opp.
Enjoying this,
Carla #8817633

I came back to this a few more times, then showed my husband who is a car fanatic about old and classic cars and he loved it!!!Jeff E Jensen August 10, 2010
Thanks all! I appreciate your kind comments. I will work on this when I'm back home this weekend and re-post. Looks like the judges liked it as-is, will be interesting to see how it does against itself. #8817761Susan M. Reynolds August 10, 2010
Mega-Ditto Kudos on your well earned EP! #8817826Rita K. Connell August 10, 2010
Jeff what a great find, I agree you may have been disappointed about getting there late but not having all the people alone was worth it. I really don't know which one I like better. I keep looking at them, the color of the car is so stiking and I love the sky behind it. your pov is wonderful on both congrat's on the EP #8817834Debbie E. Payne August 10, 2010
Both of these images are gorgeous, Jeff. If I had to pick, I would pick the first one. Did you use any kind of filter on them or are they HDR processed? #8818306Michael Kelly August 10, 2010
The second one looks great too Jeff! #8818653Jeff E Jensen August 10, 2010
Thanks all!Rita - you are right, it worked out okay after all.
Debbie - no filters or HDR, just some minor adjustments in PSE7. #8818676

Beautiful auto image Jeff. Hate to think how much it must have cost to put it in this condition. Bet he doesn't leave it parked next to the cart corral at his local supermarket.Aimee C. Eisaman August 12, 2010
Humina Humina Humina!!! LOL Beautiful car and shot! I love the POV and the rich color! Even the dark sky is great for this. I agree a bit of cloning here and there to remove background things would be nice, but regardless it's a wonderful image! :~) #8823405Jeff E Jensen August 13, 2010
I spent a little cloning time. . . . . #8825017Jeff E Jensen August 13, 2010

Excellent work Jeff and I'm pleased you decided to expand the mountain on the right side. Worked out very well. #8825278Jeff E Jensen August 13, 2010
Thanks all! I am pleased with the results, including toning down the grass.By the way Dale - if you look closely, that bit of mountain that I added is a mirror image of the piece on the left. #8825433
Aimee C. Eisaman August 13, 2010
The cloning is beautiful....just love it and I favor the color just a bit, but the bw is awesome too! :~) Wonderful work! #8825663Michael Kelly August 13, 2010
Great editing work - I have to go with the color! #8825783Teresa H. Hunt August 13, 2010
Love the edits Jeff! The B&W is very cool, but I prefer the color. The blue is just to vibrant . . . #8826736Dale Hardin August 13, 2010
I noticed that Jeff. By the way, any news on the next So.Cal. trip? #8827459Jeff E Jensen August 13, 2010
Thanks all! I prefer the color version as well.Sorry Dale, nothing scheduled right now. The event I was supposed to be there for was postponed. I still need to make a trip before the end of Sept, so I'll be there at some point. #8828835
