Aqua

Description

A daring piece of architecture, Aqua comes off more as a massive sculpture than a residential building in the heart of Chicago. Protruding from its surface are undulating concrete balconies resembling ripples or waves. This is an appropriate homage considering the building is located near Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Much like each wave in the lake, each floor platein Aqua is unique, thus construction was unusually complicated. Designed by female architect, Jeanne Gang.
