Jeepneys are the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They were originally made from US military jeeps left over from WWII and are known for their flamboyant decoration and crowded seating. They have become a symbol of Philippine culture.Dominick M. Dimacale August 03, 2010
When American troops began to leave the Philippines at the end of WWII, hundreds of surplus jeeps were sold or given to local Filipinos. The Filipinos stripped down the jeeps to accommodate several passengers, added metal roofs for shade, and decorated the vehicles with vibrant colors and bright chrome hood ornaments.Rolando Rosito August 03, 2010

Dominick- The story was a fasinating read and so enjoyable. The picture of this man as he looks out is a fantastic portrait of him, love the expression on his face. The framing is outstnading. You did an incredible job with the lighting and colors seeing he was sitting inside. As with all your portrait work, a beautiful work.Ken Smith August 04, 2010
