Mike that's a magnificent shot of a place I've been dying to visit. Can you tell me if that's a morning or afternoon shot? #1740184

Thanks for the kind words Stephen. The arch was illuminated here by the setting sun. I don't think morning light would work well at this location in the Devil's Garden, though it's hard to know for certain. Metate Arch is a very short distance from the parking lot but somehow I missed it on my first stroll through the area. I ended up spending 30 to 40 minutes searching throughout the area before I retraced my route and found the arch......duh!
Fortunately, I found the arch just before sundown and was blessed with this great light. Thankfully, sometimes our mistakes turn into successes. Thanks again for your interest. #1740507
