Circa 1840, Timber frame construction.
Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Yesterday the annual Bucks County Audubon Society's Distinctive Barn Tour took place. I drove 93 miles (includes some "lost" time) and visited 8 of the 9 barns.
----
Lots of beauty, even in the rain--which was very welcome after a parching draught.
------
Most of the barns featured this year have been converted into living quarters, but maintain many of the original rustic features.

Can you believe...that here in Kansas, they have barn tours and I have NEVER made it to even ONE!!!! I really should try to acheive that one day huh?? although I do find them on my own pretty well...LOL!!!!

What a beautiful capture of this fabulous barn, Michelle...and your post-processing work here has really taken this image 'over the top'!! It's wonderful to see an approximately 170 year-old timber frame building still standing...let alone being kept in such a good state of repair, too!! :o) Isn't it a shame that we lost SO many of our heritage-value buildings years ago...before we realised their value?!! :o/ #8761548
