Its a really powerful image for sure and as I said extremely sad.......I can't understand why this happens in this day and age......what is the story behind it......

Hi Kim...you should see it first hand. Most of these people except for the child have reached their bottom by their own means. Most live on welfare and social security. #8745664

Lonnie, thanks for the description. It really shows the dark side of life when you let yourself go. #8748671

Thanks for looking Marisol and Amanda...this is all around us, if people open their eyes to the reality of of life in the USA it would clear. #8752574

Very powerful and an eye opener. And we send our help to other countries and forget ours.
I know some life is by chose but there are those who need our help. The children really don't have a say in this. We need to help no matter what. #9017883

But there is hope. It is spelled out on the door. With Jesus, all things are possible.

Good work. #9031928

G'day *LONNIE*!

I initially shied away from this photograph but eventually returned, both actions due to the same reason - this image disturbs me and disturbs me greatly.
Not only is the poverty obvious as is the condition and look of that poor human being but it is those big pleading eyes that seem to reach into my soul.
