Description

It was so close that the top and the bottom of the butterfly was actually outside the viewfinder - I relied upon the camera's stated 90% coverage (actually recording 10% more of the scene than the viewfinder shows) to get the whole butterfly!

Taken with my Sigma 80-400mm EX OS not-only-for-birding-anymore lens: 1/500s f/10.0 at 400.0mm iso800.

Thanks, Tonya! The odd thing about this photo is that I actually had to back away to about 4 ft to take the picture (because anything closer would be inside the lens's minimum focal distance). :) #1603490
