Under the Rainbow 2

Uploaded: June 26, 2010

Description

I was out in the garden about 7:00 Thursday evening taking some photos of the cattle and the clouds over the Sierra's, when all of a sudden it started to RAIN and the sky turned red. Wow, so I got this most amazing rainbow and in 24 years I have NEVER seen the cows walk by when there was a rainbow..
I think that's one of my most memorable sights over the back fence yet!
Also I didnt change the hues, one second everything was pink & purplish, and the next it was aqua and coralish... what a sight it was to see the rainbow and the sky color show!

Not too often I use the word breathtaking, but this is one of those times. What a BEAUTIFUL surreal photograph. I love the composition with the one lone black cow that sort of brings reality to a dream-like look. Had to add it to my favorites. I'm really glad you captured this moment of beauty, and especially glad you shared it here. #8717910

Tiia and Michael, Thank you. I have lived here for 24 years and looked over the back fence a zillion times. That rainbow with the sudden red sky and the cattle below was a stunning sight for me. I have many beautiful images of "views over the back fence" in my gallery, however this one is tops. The cattle give perspective as to just how huge that dry land pasture really is, which is maybe 50,000 acres... #8717942
