Baslerstab
Uploaded: June 20, 2010
For the PG101 Green Theme.
The green sign is the symbol of the canton Basel in Switzerland. This ‘Baslerstab’ derives from the bishops’ crook used as a symbol of bishops’ authority since the year 1000, and found its present form in the 14th century.
The colorful wall with this particular "Baslerstab" was found on a stroll through town.

Love the story behind the symbol, and this is so well presented with the bright colors. Is the background what you would call Swiss graffiti? #8708798Claudine Grove June 21, 2010
