A phew more. #8703261

LOL!!!! Now you're just showing off Jeff. LOL!!!

The first post is one of my favorites and I believe I see at least one from downtown LA. Is that right? #8703427

Peter W. Marks June 18, 2010

Now then Jeff, there are very fine lines between passion, obsession and fetish and you have me worried buddy! When we meet up in STL next week we aren't going to be admiring stairs the whole time are we. lol

And Dale, I am betting you are wrong about one image being from LA but I am ready to be humbled! #8703449

Jeff E Jensen June 18, 2010

Dale - The first is definitely my favorite as well.

Peter - You're the tour guide next week, so It's up to you.

And. . . . . the winner is. . . . Sorry Dale, these are all in Seattle.

And for the bonus round, how many flights of stairs can you see in image #5? #8703515

Anthony L. Mancuso June 18, 2010

Are these really business trips you go on Jeff, or just photography outings???

I will vote for the original post as well and believe I see 4 sets of stairs in image 5... #8703886

Dale Hardin June 18, 2010

5 stairs. #8704039

Jeanine M. Bailey June 19, 2010

Looks like you have been stair hunting!!!! I like Stairs 6 the best...I can tell what they are but it is a little abstracty!

Looking at these I got an idea that would've been neat had I been thinking on the last day of school!! Oh well...maybe next year!! :) #8704296

All are very nice, but I am more impressed by 1, 6, and 2 in that order of favorites. You take some incredible EOD shots Jeff - time for a table top book featuring the architectural shots. #8704616

Teresa H. Hunt June 19, 2010

I think 2 and 6 are my favorites. Though I love your original post too.

I see 5 sets of stairs in photo #5

These are all very cool Jeff. I really like your POV and lighting in #2 . . . I think overall it's my favorite. #8704929

Jeff E Jensen June 19, 2010

Thanks all! These were fun to shoot. I knew what the monthly theme was so while wandering Seattle one evening, I looked for good shots of stairs. They are everywhere :o)

Tony - they are business trips with free time in the evenings and early mornings. I can sit in my hotel watching TV, or I can be out shooting.

Teresa - #2 is actually 3 stories of escalators in the Seattle Convention Center.

In case you haven't figured it out, #6 and #1 are the same stairs, just different POV's.

Oh, and there are 5 sets of stairs in #5. #8705130

Aimee C. Eisaman June 19, 2010

If you took these all in the same day I'm beyond impressed. Even if you didn't I'm still impressed by all the cool things you shoot. Awesome how we all see different things. I'd probably be up close looking for a rusty paint chipped pattern on a railing. My favorite is the first one...wow...the lines in that are so strong! Did you use Topaz on it at all? My guess for number 5 is 5 unless you count bends then 6. :~) #8705131

Jeff E Jensen June 19, 2010

Thanks Aimee! These were all taken over the course of a 3 hour walkabout in Seattle.

No Topaz on #1, I don't own any filters other than what came with PSE7. #8705135

Jeff E Jensen June 19, 2010

Here's two more form the same walkabout. #8705215

Dale Hardin June 19, 2010

Jeff, you've given a good lesson to all of us here. When on a "walk about" it helps a lot to pick a subject (or multiply subjects) to act as a focal point for the shoot.

Lots of times we wander about wondering what to shoot and end up with a bunch of "stuff". By looking for specific items to create a series, it becomes a game and a challenge by focusing your efforts. #8705485

Rita K. Connell level-classic June 19, 2010

way cool jeff, I totally agree with Dale on picking a subject and I did wonder around wondering what to shoot and ended up with a bunch of stuff.

there really isn't a bad shot here. but my favorite is two...I love the feel of it and then #1 truely awesome shots Jeff and very nicely presented. #8705708

Jeff E Jensen June 19, 2010

Thank you Rita!

Dale - you are right. It was an interesting challenge to not only look for stairs, but to also come up with good shots of them. Though I hate to admit it, I have plenty of stair shots that aren't worth posting. #8705711

Congrats on your EP...this one makes my eyes go wacky everytime I look at it....it's great! :~) #8708200

Jeff E Jensen June 21, 2010

Thanks Aimee! #8708209

Aimee C. Eisaman June 21, 2010

Well I guess this one is on the same thread somehow. Another EP from this little walkabout! Congrats! I love how you put your name on the bottom step! :~) #8709791

Jeff E Jensen June 21, 2010

Thanks Aimee! I thought that was pretty tricky as well. #8709804
