Extra Click - One last Oklahoma storm
Description: Nikon 24-70mm @ 70mm F8 15seconds ISO 500 WB auto I shot this lightning picture last night with a tripod. I used shutter priority mode and a fifteen second shutter speed. It was pitch black out so it was difficult to see the camera settings and I inadvertently left the ISO at 500 (should have used 100). This resulted in a little bit of graininess in the final image which I corrected using the luminance tool in Lightroom 3. The image is cropped down to about a third of it's original width. The exposure value was set on camera at -2 to really illustrate how black the sky was. I also left quite a bit of sky in the final crop to show the ominous clouds. I really wish the fence wasn't in the way but there wasn't really anything I could do about it at the time. When you use shutter priority mode like this, the camera will capture whatever strikes happen. This photo contains two back to back strikes. I'm really enjoying taking lightning pictures and now just need to work on foregro
